Southwest Motorsport is re-commencing the 2020 season! Sandia Speedway has received authorization to recommence activities. The first event for SWMS is the annual pre-tech inspection of cars and safety equipment. See below for the details for that event June 20. Sandia Speedway has also been given Covid 19 safe practice guidelines which will be observed by all users of the track. In addition SWMS is developing specific protocols to be utilized by club members while at the track. With these Covid 19 safe practices and protocols in place SWMS is gearing up for our first full schedule race weekend of the year July 11/12 at Sandia raceway. As some other clubs have published our goal is "safer than going to the grocery store." More information to follow and hope to see you there!
During the off season Southwest Motorsport has implemented a new website and club communication system. The website has been modernized and I hope that you find it much easier and faster to use. Communication will be much easier and targeted at the correct audience. In addition SWMS with our sponsors Travers Mechanical, Car Crafters, Yearwood Performance, and generous donations from club members has repaired the track worker truck. As you can see we're ready for the rest of the years' schedule. Courtesy of another sponsor, Highway Supply, we actually have a printed schedule for this year! It will be in your drivers packet for our first weekend with a poster size available at track weekends for $10.
