Mazda Mayhem, September 12th and 13th, Suika Circuit, ABQ

Hi All,

After a brief summer break to let the peak heat come and thankfully go, we at SWMS are excited road racing at Suika Circuit is back in action for the second half of the 2026 racing season. Suika Circuit and University Mazda have worked hard to organize another fantastic Mazda Mayhem for 2026, this year moved up slightly to September! Racing is Saturday 9/12 and Sunday 9/13. Generous awards have been set up for those racing in Spec Miata and Spec RX-7.

I just checked and the entry list is already making for a huge turn out, with our usual favorites in all classes. If you are thinking about running your car at this mega weekend, we encourage you sign up. It's going to be fun weekend of racing!

With the racing season back in full swing, here are some other notes and updates:

1) Karting at Suika Circuit is back! By popular demand (I get so many emails asking about karting!), Eric and the team at Suika Circuit have reopened the karting group on MSR and are working to grow its popularity. For those who may not know, the Cahan team (now racing open wheel!) were instrumental in running karting in prior years. With their race schedule taking them across the Nation's tracks, local karting organization proved more and more challenging. But fear not, Eric and the Suika Circuit team are helping out to get karting back open for registration. For any questions, email info@suikacircuit.com.

2) Friday Test and Tune: Yes, Mazda Mayhem will have a Friday test and tune. If interested, you can add Friday to your registration at MotorsportsReg.

3) Saturday SWMS Potluck: Yes, the SWMS group invites everyone at the track for tacos, about an hour or so after racing concludes on Saturday. We will bring the tacos, you bring the refreshing beverages and racing stories. Stop by, chit, chat, and enjoy the post race recaps.

I'll be out in my Contemporary Class SAAB race car when not watching the amazing show that is the Mazda Mayhem main race. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the best sports car racing in New Mexico.
