Hi All,
Together with the fantastic team at Suika and Super Cup 2026, SWMS is happy to share that the first 2026 main season race weekend starts in a little under 2 weeks! Registration is open for racing Saturday 4-18 and Sunday 4-19, with SWMS Technical Inspection and open lapping being held Friday 4-17 (click the button link below to confirm your spot on the grid). Lunch concessions and food will be available. Many exciting updates and details follow:
1) Membership and Licensing: If you have not yet renewed your SWMS membership and/or license for 2026, registration is open. Please visit https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2026-season-swms-membership-vmc-licensing-suika-circuit-albuquerque-249637 if you need to get this done.
2) Technical Inspection: SWMS annual technical inspection will occur Friday 4-17, at the track, from 3-6PM. Our experienced technical inspection team is ready to look at your cars and answer any rules questions! In parallel, Larry Haynes will also be performing RMVR helmet checks if you need that, too.
3) Saturday Potluck Dinners: Long requested by so many, SWMS has made it our mission have a triumphant return of the Saturday Potluck. After each Saturday race this season, SWMS will have a potluck ready about 45min after the last race of the day. Larry Haynes leads the first April potluck, everyone is invited! Some quick details from Larry:
SWMS will be hosting a potluck dinner Sat April 18 approximately 45 minutes after last car. All Super Cup/Competition school participants, volunteers and workers are invited. To be held at the Haynes Motorhome/trailer. The menu will consist of tacos and taco salad fixings. In the spirit of a potluck, participants can bring veggies, chips, dessert etc. If your potluck items need refrigeration, let Larry Haynes know as there is refrigerator space available. SWMS will provide cold water and a variety of sodas. Bring your chairs and your best appetite to the first Potluck of 2026.Questions Larry: Lhaynes99@gmail.com
4) Competition Licensing School (gateway to SWMS/VMC Licensing): Suika and Steve Marino are going to offer the Competition school as a two-day event during the upcoming April race weekend. Steve asks that any interested licensed drivers (who make excellent volunteers) help participate in the on-track exercises (which are a great way to learn more about the new racers and get some bonus track time).
5) High Performance Driver Education (gateway to SWMS/VMC Licensing): The next HPDE class and school will be held Sunday 4-12. Registration is closed (the class is completely full, 12 students!). As we know, these classes are extremely important to growing sports car racing in NM and take a quite a bit of effort to put on. If you are a SWMS certified instructor and have availability on Sunday, please email Eric at Suika (info@suikacircuit.com) and/or Steve Marino or John Slenes (contact@swms.org).
6) HPDE/Lapping Sessions: Back by popular demand! The HPDE/lapping sessions are back during each Super Cup race weekend. Registration for this popular class is once again available and open at MSR.
The SWMS Board is excited that the 2026 main race season opener is soon approaching, this race weekend is always one of the biggest all year! As always, we look forward to seeing everyone and their cars in 2026. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to contact@swms.org and we’ll try our best to get an answer.
